In today’s technological world that we live in, we have numerous ways and methods of communication. We can start off the old fashion way, which is written, oral, and in person. These methods are still used today, but we have gradually transitioned into the electronic way of communicating. A big trend today is social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and many others. A lot of the younger population use this social media as a method of communication, where they can chat, upload pictures and connect with various other people across the world. In a more professional place such as work we tend to use emails as our preferred method of communication, which also serves as written proof, if one were to deny anything. Some common email providers are Gmail by Google, Hotmail by Microsoft, and yahoo mail.
What are Blogs, and Wikis? Wiki is a site where one or several people can collaborate and post information about almost anything. It also can be edited by others. A perfect example would be Wikipedia. A blog is very much like a journal but instead of writing it in a book you do it online. Podcast and webcast are on the up rise and becoming more popular. They are a form of digital media. Podcast are recorded audio file where they are put on the internet for users to listen. Webcast is essentially broadcasting online sort of like a radio station.
